Affiliate Disclosure
It's no secret. Running a website costs money. Between domain name registration and monthly domain hosting, there is a non-trivial amount of my monthly paycheck going to support the site.
I strive to give you excellent content with slightly better-than-mediocre writing quality. To do that, I rely on your support, affiliate links, and advertising through Google AdSense.
What are affiliate links?
Affiliate links are special links that partners like Amazon or Chewy have given me that reference their products. For example, if I'm reviewing The Pupsicle, it's possible that I may get a special link that allows the manufacturer to know that I've referenced someone to their site.
In exchange for driving traffic to their website, I may get a percentage of any sales you make on their website. This can hover between 1%-4% of the transaction. There is absolutely no cost to you; this comes out of the manufacturer's profit margins.
Does this lead to a conflict of interest?
Since I derive money from referring you to purchase items, there is a positive relationship between the amount you purchase and the amount of money my affiliate links bring in. This could lead to a conflict of interest where I recommend products I otherwise wouldn't, just to get you to purchase something.
However, the aim of this site is not for me to make money. I'm content with covering my monthly costs of hosting while I improve my writing skills. At the time of posting, that's around $9 a month.
To put that in perspective, $9 could come from one larger purchase, like something like an iRobot Roomba, or two to three smaller purchases of something like a Kong. $9 a month could also come from ~9,000 website visits a month through Google AdSense (it would help out greatly if you disable your ad blocker for this site!).
For those reasons, I'll never recommend a product I don't believe in. I want you to trust my reviews. If, for whatever reason, you think I'm a sellout, you can always reach out to me directly at blog@thatcorgiblog.com. I'd love to hear from you.
iubenda Referral Code
I use iubenda for my privacy policy and cookie consent policy. They take care of all the legal jargon so I can do what I enjoy doing – making content. I pay $9 a month, and they monitor my website for compliance across several countries. If I inadvertently change something on the website that breaks compliance, they send me an e-mail to let me know to modify either the site or the policy. It's worked out great and I would recommend them.
By using my referral code, you get 10% off your first purchase on their site (I would recommend getting the annual plan to save more). If you end up using it, I'd love to hear what your experience are. If you use something else that you're really happy with, I'd also love to hear from you!
Sticker Mule Referral Code
I purchase all of my stickers through Sticker Mule. They might not be the cheapest on the market, but I am extremely happy with the quality of their products. They made sure die-cut stickers had great looking borders. I'm thankful I only needed to send them the .svg file of images I wanted to print.
All that is to say, I am a happy customer and, if you want to print your own stickers, I think you will be as well. If you use my referral code, we'll both get $10 off our next orders. They're always running deals, so I would recommend waiting for a sale to pop up before ordering.
